Chelsea manager reveals he’s powerless to stop superstar from joining Real Madrid

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri admitted that star forward Eden Hazard could be on his way out of the club in the summer.

Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid the entire season. While he decided to stay at the club and tough it out for another year, with Chelsea struggling to even make the top four of the Premier League, it appears he might be on his way to Spain.

“Cannot do anything to keep him”

Sarri clarified that he has no way of stopping Hazard if the Belgian wishes to leave the club. However, the Italian manager also explained that the £100m price tag touted is far too less for a player of Hazard’s capabilities.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “[£100m] is too cheap. in this market it’s too cheap. We have seen in the last market window every price I think. So I think it is really very hard to change Hazard with another player.”

“I cannot do anything [to keep him]. because the club agrees with me, but if Eden wants to make another experience, it is very difficult to keep him, I think.

“[We will try to persuade him] that we are trying to improve. to become one of the best teams in England, and as a consequence in Europe. but I think I have to respect his decision.”

Chants off ‘he’s off to Madrid’ could be heard during Chelsea’s clash against West Ham. But Hazard himself clarified that those are completely baseless and have no truth to them.

Hazard denies exit

The Belgian further added that he is completely focussed on performing for Chelsea right now. Hazard has once again been Chelsea’s best player this season, with 19 goals in all competitions.

However, with Madrid making their interest quite clear, he is set to be on the way out of the Bridge come the summer.
