Loftus-Cheek was brought on from the bench at half time. However, he had to be withdrawn soon enough after sustaining a nasty injury to his ankle.

The midfielder appeared to have twisted his foot on the patch surface at the Gillette Stadium. He was then pictured leaning on crutches on his way out of the arena.
He is now unlikely to recover in time for the Europa League final against Arsenal. This would be a severe blow to Chelsea, who see Loftus-Cheek as one of their main starters.
In fact, the youngster has cemented his place in Sarri’s midfield over the second half of the season.
With the likes of Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic struggling to fire, Sarri turned to Loftus-Cheek who put in some solid displays.
Major blow for Chelsea; can Barkley or Kovacic step up?
Sarri, who was unhappy that Chelsea had to play this friendly in the first place ahead of such a crunch fixture, is only going to get angrier following this incident.
The Blues came away with a comfortable 3-0 victory. A brace from Ross Barkley and a third from Olivier Giroud helped Chelsea secure the victory. However, it came at a price, with Loftus-Cheek set to miss the remainder of the season.
Chelsea take on Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku on July 25th. Both sides failed to win any major trophy during the regular season which means this would be the last opportunity for them end the season with some silverware.
