Recently relegated Fulham have completed the signing of Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro on a season-long loan deal.
They will also have the option to make the move permanent next summer if they wish to.
Fulham endured a torrid time in the Premier League last season, finishing second from bottom and suffering relegation as a result.
Wolves, on the other hand, were one of the surprise packages of the season. On the back of some solid displays right from the start of the season, Wolves managed to secure a seventh-place finish.
Ivan Cavaleiro joins Fulham, hoping for more game time
Cavaleiro played an important role in their promotion the season before, but failed to nail down a regular starting berth in the 2018/19 campaign.
He made just six starts over the course of the season, with players like Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez preferred up front.
As a result, Cavaleiro was open to a move away this summer and Fulham have given him an out.
The Portuguese expressed his delight at the fact that he will be playing for Fulham this coming season. Speaking to the club’s website, Cavaleiro said:
“I’m really happy to be here and sign for Fulham. This is a big and respected club in England and through the rest of the world.
“Fulham has been involved in a European final, so it holds great pedigree.
“This is a good opportunity for me to grow as a player as well so I’m very happy to be here and I’m excited to be meeting everyone today.”
The London side will be hoping his presence can help them get back into the Premier League, where they feel they belong.
On the other hand, Wolves will be looking to build on the foundations of the previous season and fight for a spot in the top six.
