Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to miss the Reds’ European Super Cup clash against Chelsea next week after suffering a calf injury in their Premier League opener.
Alisson pulled up with a calf strain midway through the first half of Liverpool’s game against Norwich last night.
Unable to carry on, he was replaced by new signing Adrian, who acquitted himself well on his Liverpool debut.
Thank you all for the messages! Will be back as soon as possible and stronger!! 💪🏼🙌🏼🧤 #YNWA

Jurgen Klopp’s men were already 3-0 up by the time Alisson suffered the injury, so his absence was not felt during the game.
However, the Reds did go on to concede a goal in the second half, eventually running out 4-1 winners.
Adrian, meanwhile, was signed earlier this week from West Ham as a back-up for Alisson. However, it looks like he could get some significant game time in the weeks to come.
Alisson to miss Chelsea game; Liverpool short on goalkeeping options
Following the game, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Alisson will miss Liverpool’s game against Chelsea. However, the German refused to put a timeline on the Brazilian’s return to action.
“It’s not good for us. We have to see how serious it is. It’s a calf, that’s it. He couldn’t carry on, that’s not a good sign.
“From all of my experience he will not play (in the Super Cup final against Chelsea). He is injured, I cannot say how much until the scan, but he is injured.”
“It is not good but we will find a solution and move on.”
Liverpool do not have too many goalkeeper options at their disposal following the departure of Simon Mignolet.
They might be forced to play the game against Chelsea without a backup keeper on the bench, which could be disastrous if Adrian too picks up a knock.
Champions League winners Liverpool will take on Europa League champions Chelsea next Wednesday in the European Super Cup as both sides look for their first piece of silverware this season.
