Valencia have completed the signing of former Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala on a two-year deal.
Mangala joins the Spanish club on a free transfer and will remain with them until 2021. Interestingly, Mangala spent a season on loan at Valencia a couple of years ago after finding opportunities hard to come by at City.
In fact, the 28-year-old last played a game for Manchester City back in 2017, against Crystal Palace.

His last competitive game also came two years ago when he featured for Everton. Mangala’s career has been wrecked by injuries and he has failed to truly cement a starting berth at any of the clubs he’s been in.
However, he is now back to full fitness and will be hoping he can contribute to Valencia’s upcoming season.
Premier League winner with City back in 2017/18
Mangala joined City from Porto back in 2014 for £32m, but made just over 50 appearances for the Sky Blues in five years.
He was part of the City side that won the Premier League in 2017/18. When fit, the Frenchman was quite a solid centre-back, but his lack of consistency has prompted Pep Guardiola to offload him at the earliest.
Valencia released a statement earlier today confirming the development.
“Valencia CF have reached an initial agreement with Eliaquim Mangala for the French defender to join the club through to June 30th, 2021. The agreement is pending the completion of the definitive paperwork.”
Mangala has also been capped by France eight times, although his last appearance for Les Bleus came way back in 2016.
He has previously featured for the likes of Standard Liege and Porto, where he truly made his name, before arriving in England to turn out for Manchester City.
He will be hoping to kickstart a stalling career when he takes the field at the Mestalla.
