Zob Ahan goalkeeper Mohammad Bagher Sadeghi produced arguably one of the most comical own goals of all time in an Asian Champions League fixture against Al-Ittihad.
With the scores level at 1-1, Sadeghi charged off his line seeing a loose ball straight from kick-off.
Mohammad Bagher Sadeghi brain-fade costs Zob Ahan dearly
Attempting to loft the ball clear, he ended up miscuing it horribly and sending it straight into the back of his own net.
Horrified by his actions, Sadeghi ended up on the turf, head held in his hands.
That wasn’t the only comical moment of the game though. Just a minute earlier, Ittihad’s Luis Antonio Jimenez put the ball into his own net when he failed to get out of the way of a swinging free-kick.

In a game filled with chances and goals, Al Ittihad eventually prevailed by four goals to three, progressing to the next round on aggregate. The Saudi Arabian side had won the first leg at home 2-1.
Zob Ahan will definitely feel hard done by, having dominated proceedings for most of the 90 minutes. They enjoyed 65% of the possession and completed 436 passes to Al Ittihad’s 251.
However, some shocking defending let them down, sending them crashing out of the competition.
Al-Ittihad will next be seen in action when they take on Al-Ahed in the Arab Club Championship.
